With the objective that this interaction will lead to increased discussions between govern-ment officials, opposition party members and civil society organizations on approaches that can transform conflicts in peaceful ways, the Civil Peace Service Campaign:

  • seeks a better recognition of civil society and NGO’s role in peacebuilding
  • urge party leaders, parliamentarians and other politicians to include civil peace principles into their party platforms
  • ask the EU to foster growth of civilian capabilities.

PDCI has also joined the “Europe, Vote for Peace” Campaign of the CPS, ahead of the European Parliament elections of June 4-7. The campaign urges the EU to strengthen its crisis prevention and peacebuilding capacities.
