As part of its work within the Training and Capacity Building Cluster, PDCI and its members held four workshops in four different countries on Mainstreaming Peacebuilding into ODA at the end of 2009 and beginning of 2010.

The Capacity Building cluster aims to drawn on lessons extracted from research on international development assistance and peacebuilding. It seeks to facilitate shared learning for and amongst local and international civil society organisations, think-tanks and academic institutions, relevant governments and bi-lateral/multi-lateral institutions, particularly in the new EU Member States of Central and Eastern Europe. The cluster focused on training and networking activities in Europe, targeting European NGOs, seeking to ensure that organizations from new Member States participate in all the activities it carries out.

 The workshops are based on a manual developed by PDCI. The need for such a manual and such a training was made clear through previous research conducted in 7 EU member states (see publications).
