NGO support

PDCI has evolved through the establishment of independent non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in different countries worldwide that can ensure local capacities for change and conflict management, civic development, and the democratic empowerment of a diverse number of citizens and community groups. Transfer of competences and sustainable financial support are prioritized.

Strategic planning

PDCI asserts itself as a leader in civil society support by providing concrete, action-oriented advisory services to ensure better accountability, legitimacy and organisational management. Strategic planning improves NGO professionalism and helps situate them more appropriately amongst their beneficiaries and stakeholders.

NGO legislation

Ensuring a framework for the just resolution of conflicts is central to a functioning rule of law system in democratic societies. PDCI works to enhance the effectiveness of justice systems, both by working with public authorities and agencies (courts, police) and by improving citizens’ knowledge of their rights and responsibilities through training and awareness raising.

Partners-Jordan Organises Civil Society to Re-draft NGO Law

Partners-Jordan gathered together civil society actors to discuss the idea of drafting a new NGO law in the context of Jordan’s civil society law reform. In July, under the patronage of the Minister of Political Development, Partners-Jordan and the Adaleh Center for Human Rights Studies organised a meeting with government and civil society to present feedback from Jordanian NGOs on the first draft. The proposed draft was presented to the Prime Minister of Jordan.

While awaiting the approval and ratification of the law (the draft will be introduced to the new parliament after elections), Partners-Jordan is launching projects to increase networking activities among parliamentarians and Jordanian civil society with the aim of building relationships in preparation of the introduction of the law in parliament. Furthermore, Partners-Jordan is conducting training courses for civil society organisations in the field of advocacy, in order to provide coalition members with the required campaigning skills for the law to be passed early next year.
